
In summer 2007, the Wellcome Trust is opening Wellcome Collection, a major
new £30m public venue located in Euston, London. Wellcome Collection
will be a dynamic new centre, with its programme of special exhibitions exploring
major themes such as the Heart (summer/autumn 07); a contemporary permanent
gallery exploring key medical themes such as obesity, malaria and genomes;
and a second permanent gallery showcasing 900 of the million plus objects
collected by Wellcome Trust founder, Sir Henry Wellcome (1853-1936). The programme
will include newly commissioned works by artists.The world famous Wellcome
Library will be housed in the same building.
Entry is free. There will be guided tours and other activities.
