Although I have spent the last six years working as an art instructor/teaching assistant in a school for pupils with special needs, thus allowing me sufficient time to research and write my thesis,* I still regard myself as a medical illustrator. I am particularly interested in using my skills to write/design/illustrate health information material for both children and adults. I enjoy working in watercolour and other traditional media, as well as Adobe Illustrator.
I feel that it is extremely important to inform people in a concise and non-patronising way about general health issues, as well as tailoring material to give information and advice on specific conditions, and a high illustrative content is ideal for this type of approach.
