My formal art training in traditional media concluded with a research degree at the University of Manchester’s Medical School. Subsequently I worked as part of the research and development team at Limbs and Things in Bristol and gained four years experience working at a London based healthcare graphics studio.
I have since practiced for five years as a full-time self-employed medical illustrator producing digital artwork in black and white line, halftone and full colour, 2D and 3D animation, and 3D modelling. I produce work for screen presentations, print, web, CD and DVD using many of the main professional software packages.
As a professional medical illustrator I approach each new project and subject area with interest and an ability to understand the complexity of what is being portrayed. I aim to maintain a smooth development from the initial client brief to the final product and use my varied skill base to work with the client to create a style and look to suit their needs.
