Eleanor Crook, MA, MMAA, RMIP

I have been making anatomical art since training at the Royal Academy Schools and following work  with the Gordon Museum of Pathology, King’s Guys & St Thomas’s Hospital Trust, the Hunterian Museum at the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the Wellcome Trust .

I run courses and workshops on anatomical art for the Royal College of Art, Byam Shaw School of Art, Guy’s & St Thomas’s and independently. I frequently give presentations and demonstrations at various museums , colleges and institutions.

I produce sculpture in wax, prosthetic silicone, bronze , carved wood and plastics, specializing in a lifelike detailed finish , using first hand research to ensure accuracy. Subjects include anatomy, pathology, surgery and dermatology. My current research is in Animatronics ; my models can be given speech, movement and moving fluids. I research in the medical school at Guys & St Thomas’s, and in its Gordon Museum of Pathology, where my wax models can be visited.
