MAA 71st Annual Conference April 20th, 2020 – London

The 71st MAA Annual Conference will be held at The Foundling Museum, 40 Brunswick Square, London on April 20th, 2020. The theme is ‘2020: A Vision for the Future’. P

We are extremely grateful to all our speakers for offering their support and look forward to seeing as many members, students and associates as possible to help make it a successful and rewarding meeting.
We have arranged an early evening informal Annual Dinner, so if you have a long train journey home, it should still allow you time to attend the meal and still have time to catch your homeward train.

As usual with our 1-day conferences no arrangements have been made for overnight accommodation so members are encouraged to book their own accommodation if required.

The booking form can be downloaded from the link below:

Dorothy Davison – artist of the week

We are very pleased to share some of the medical illustrations from the Association’s archives. Here are a few artworks created by Dorothy Davison, Founder Member of the Medical Artists’ Association in 1949. She was medical artist at the Manchester Royal Infirmary and the University of Manchester from around 1918 until her retirement in 1957. Renowned for her striking artworks using the Ross board technique (carbon dust) depicting neurological anatomy and surgery. Our current chairman Philip Wilson was lucky enough to have met Dorothy and described her as having “the stature of a dormouse but the constitution of a lioness”!
